Mode of action of Fungicide Flutriafol

Flutriafol is a systemic fungicide that belongs to the triazole class of chemicals. Its mode of action involves inhibiting the enzyme C14-demethylase (also known as lanosterol 14α-demethylase). This enzyme is crucial in the biosynthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes.

By inhibiting C14-demethylase, flutriafol disrupts the production of ergosterol, leading to the accumulation of toxic intermediates and resulting in cell membrane dysfunction. This ultimately inhibits fungal growth and reproduction, providing effective control against a range of fungal pathogens in crops.

Flutriafol fungicide has a broad-spectrum bactericidal activity and can prevent and control diseases on cereal crops and diseases spread by soil and seeds. Such as rust, moire, powdery mildew, net spot, leaf spot, smut and so on. Flutriafol products can inhibit the growth of fungi in plants or in vitro, especially for wheat powdery mildew.
